Words about my Ministry;

     In my ministry as an Elder for Santa Clara Church of Christ, I find it to be an honor and a privilege to serve  the church everyday. To be an example of the love of Jesus to those around me. In 1 Peter 5 it gives the individuals a break down of how they should be leaders in the church but the part that has the most meaning to me is in verse 2; to be shepherds and overseers of Gods people not because you must, but because your willing. It doesn’t matter if I have the knowledge or not; but if I am willing God will equip me with all of the strength and wisdom to conquer each circumstance that is in front of me, if I put my full trust in Him.

     My father was an Elder and Pastor over my church growing up for 31 years. Prior to seven years ago I can’t remember ever considering, let alone thinking about being an Elder of a church. That used to be only what my Dad did. It’s amazing how the Holy Spirit works in our hearts to prepare us for the plan and purpose that God wants us to fulfill. My dad went home to be with the Lord in1991 and I’m now 48 and I think that the joys and sorrows that I have been a part of in this ministry in some ways have brought my dad and I to an even closer relationship than before I became an Elder. I now know some of what his ministry must have been like and for that I am grateful. Again its a privilege to serve.  Thank you.
